SL EZ Sensor
The SL EZ sensor detects vehicles in road traffic for applications like axle counting, vehicle classification, speed measurement and headway measurement. The SL EZ sensor is designed for permanent installation on a concrete foundation in roads. It is a polyurethane-based reinforced fiber optic traffic sensor which is preinstalled in a frame of high-density polymer. The frame is fixed to a concrete base with bolts or threaded rods. The sensor strip can be replaced quickly and easily without additional roadworks, which is particularly necessary for free flow tolling.

The SL SPZ sensor detects cars, trucks as well as motorbikes and bicycles (depending on the embedding material) in road traffic for axle counting, speed measurement, headway measurement, vehicle classification and cyclist counting. The SL SPZ sensor is a basic fiber optic traffic sensor designed for permanent installation in concrete or asphalt roads. The SL SPZ sensor is installed with our PU-based filler material which provides a perfect bonding to roads.

All SL Customized Senszors are especially designed for the needs of our partners. Sensor Line can form almost every shape or contour including our unique polyurethane-based reinforced fiber optic technology. For example the SL MTA Sensor, with its bottom feeder cable exit, is designed for an installation into bridges.
All custom-made sensor operate in the same way as the SL PUR Sensors. The pressure of a wheel deforms the sensor. This deformation decreases the optical transmittance inside the sensor. This transmittance change is detected by our opto-electronic interfaces like the dynamic or static optical transmittance analyzer and is transformed into signals for traffic data processing. In conjunction with our PU-base filler material, every customized sensor will have a perfect bonding to roads.
