SMS Sensor
The surface mounted SL SMS sensor is a flat fiber optic traffic sensor designed for temporary installations in a road pocket tape (e.g. self-adhesive reinforced mastic membrane pocket tape) which is sticking on the pavement. This type of sensor allows an easy and fast installation on the road and is used for e.g. construction sites, temporary vehicle counting stations and sensor configuration test areas.

SL PUR-BS Sensor
The SL PUR-BS sensor is a modified SL PUR sensor for bicycle detection and cyclist counting that has a softer top layer of polyurethane-based resin than the standard SL PUR sensor and a higher sensitivity. The SL PUR-BS sensor is designed for permanent installation in concrete or asphalt roads. Its special T-shape ensures a fast and long-term installation.

Special Designs
All SL Customized Senszors are especially designed for the needs of our partners. Sensor Line can form almost every shape or contour including our unique polyurethane-based reinforced fiber optic technology. For example the SL MTA Sensor, with its bottom feeder cable exit, is designed for an installation into bridges.
All custom-made sensor operate in the same way as the SL PUR Sensors. The pressure of a wheel deforms the sensor. This deformation decreases the optical transmittance inside the sensor. This transmittance change is detected by our opto-electronic interfaces like the dynamic or static optical transmittance analyzer and is transformed into signals for traffic data processing. In conjunction with our PU-base filler material, every customized sensor will have a perfect bonding to roads.
